At a recent meeting I attended, one of my colleagues said the problem with pharmacy practice is that pharmacists do not have a standardized way to work up patients, compared with the physicians’ medical work-up. My response was that there is a standardized process, one that I first read about when it was published in 1988 and that I have used for more than 20 years: the Pharmacist’s Workup of Drug Therapy (PWDT).
