For the retail chain, today’s practice environment is more difficult and stressful than ever before. Your system must be designed to help you collectively run all of your pharmacies in the most efficient way possible. You need a system that’s easy to use, so you don’t have to spend a lot of time training all your relief pharmacists. It must have great clinical features, enabling you to provide the highest level of patient care. Your system should handle your business requirements with strong financial and inventory management capabilities. Technology is the key.
With chain clients ranging from several sites to nearly 100 locations, HBS operates under the notion that a successful pharmacy system is more than capacity and reliability; that functionality, customization, and integrated solutions are also key factors in the continued success of your pharmacy—options that best fit your needs. Our pharmacy system provides a unique base to implement a proven solution for both immediate business needs and the changes and demands of the industry that will affect everyone in the future.
Products and Services
HBS offers a variety of customized solutions, specifically designed to meet your business needs. While the side bar to the right highlights some of the key functionalities of the system, the products and services page highlights many of our more popular solutions to enhance productivity of your pharmacy operation.
HBS offers the following diverse configurations designed to meet your pharmacy’s capacity and performance requirements that are aimed at generating in-store and corporate efficiencies associated with the filling of prescriptions.
- Multi-Site Common Profile (Co-Pro): For commonly owned groups of pharmacies, the Co-Pro system offers the ability to centralize the administration of all stores through a single server system. All data files (drug, doctor, sig, etc.) can be shared, leaving all remote sites with little or no maintenance functions to perform. When customers shop at any of your stores, their complete patient profiles will be readily available, in real-time. The HBS Co-Pro system enables each pharmacy to maintain its individuality in areas such as reporting, pricing, and Rx labeling.
- Chain-Host System: The HBS chain-host system is perfect for multi-site pharmacies with a need to share central database information. The chain-host system is ideal for both commonly- and individually-owned pharmacy structures such as franchises and co-operatives. Many maintenance functions (third party plan administration, drug file maintenance, etc.) can be performed by the host and transmitted to individual locations.
The Co-Pro system, as previously described, can also be installed regionally and supported by a chain host system. The chain host product is a true windows-based system with an open SQL database for easy data mining or report writing where these functions are normally performed as opposed to at the store level. Each individual pharmacy has its own server with on-line nightly communication to a host system over the internet. Using the internet as the communication vehicle, it gives the host the ability to administer a large number of widely dispersed locations. The host serves as a central data repository of information for the group.
- Distributed Database: The distributed server model is designed to run in “downtime” or prescription capture mode in the event of lost connectivity between a pharmacy and the central server. Each pharmacy has access to local patient, prescriber, and prescription information; the pharmacy retains the ability to process prescriptions, including the adjudication of the prescription, and the printing of labels.
